An autobiographical documentation of "Where I am right now".
It is always interesting to spend a few moments examining the small details held within a photograph that does not have a clear subject, to notice that there is often a lot of information that can still convey a story and a meaning.

These photographs are mostly digital and so could easily be overlooked and deleted, however my obsession with "end frames" started with film. The end frame is the wind on shots that get taken at the beginning or the end of a roll, where the photographer is just exposing and winding on the film to get to the first clean frames. Or perhaps also to waste out the last few frames on a film.
I spent a few years long ago working as a Cruise Ship photographer. In that role I would typically shoot upwards of 30 rolls of 35mm film per day. Every roll would have some end frames. Often the end frames were of the photographers feet. Usually we never even printed them, but when occassionally they did get printed, I always found them fascinating. They represented pure documentary photography, a moment of factual capture, in a world of endless posed "big smile" pictures. These end frames often could often tell an interesting story if examined and considered, but they were never retained, they all went in the bin.

These pictures reference back to those previous "end frames" and it is my way of dealing with all of that creative loss!
